Westville Music Bowl, New Haven
The Westville Music Bowl is a top outdoor venue. It's a former New Haven tennis stadium. It was reborn in 2021 as a concert space. It holds about 3,500 to 9,700 people. The Bowery Presents books it now, leaning indie, jam, and Americana. It's big enough for headliners, but still feels close.
New Haven music got a big boost. An old tennis stadium came back to life. The Westville Music Bowl turned an empty space into something new. It's now a summer home for great touring acts.
Tennis stadium to music bowl
It opened in 1991 as a tennis stadium. It hosted pro tennis for about three decades. In 2021, it became a full-time outdoor concert venue. It's called the Westville Music Bowl. It kept its natural bowl shape. That shape gives the room its character and good sightlines.
